Cristiana Macedo is a PhD Student in Fine Arts at the Fine Art Faculty of University of Porto and a FCT (Science and Technology Foundation) scholarship holder (2023.04751.BD.). Member of the VICARTE Research Unit – Glass and Ceramics for the Arts at FCT/UNL, Lisbon and i2ads Research Institute in Art, Design and Society, Porto. Her work spans the areas of painting, glass, and ceramics, with a particular interest in using natural materials as a medium for creating diverse pieces.
Her background in painting, which she has been developing since her bachelor’s degree and deepened during her master’s, allows her to think about and interpret materiality as an expansive and multidimensional medium. Her contribution focuses on ceramic practice to model landscapes drawn from nature, exploring how small, modular components can inform versatile spatial configurations and installation possibilities.
